Reference Letter for Agent/Distributor in Indonesia

AGENT/DISTRIBUTOR is for U.S. principal companies to appoint Indonesia companies to conduct sales and marketing of U.S. products/services.

Agent is Indonesian trading company acting as an intermediary, for and on behalf of the principal in USA, under an agreement for marketing activities in Indonesia (without transfer of ownership of the offered products/services)

Distributor is a Indonesian trading company acting for and on its own behalf, under an agreement with the principal in USA to conduct purchases, storage, marketing, sales and after-sales of products/services in Indonesia.

As stipulated in the Indonesian Trade Minister Regulation No. 11/M-DAG/PER/3/2006, appointing Agent and Distributor in Indonesia requires Reference Letter from the Commercial Attaché.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Contractual Agreement between the U.S. Company (as Principal) and Indonesian Company, legalized by notary public (in either country), see example here;
  2. Most current Certificate of Good Standing from the Secretary of State office where the U.S. Company is registered, see example here;

PROCEDURE:

  1. Produce the Contractual Agreement, have it signed both parties and legalized by notary public (in Indonesia or USA).
  2. Obtain Certificate of Good Standing from the Secretary of State.
  3. Start the online Application for Reference Letter.
  4. Once received, Commercial Attaché will process the application and produce e-Reference Letter for your company within 5 working days. The Reference Letter will be automatically sent to your email.
